Steve joined Encore Consumer Capital in 2015 and is a Director of Lion Beverages, Murry’s and Tourtellot, and a board member of the Encore portfolio companies Ancient Harvest and Fantasy Cookie Company. He was an advisor to and board observer at Van Law.
Steve brings over 30 years of consumer products industry experience including strategic planning, brand development, consumer marketing, line management and transactional leadership. Most recently, Steve was Chairman of private-equity backed Rudi’s Organic Bakery for five years, until the company was sold to Hain Celestial. Prior to Rudi’s, Steve served as a lead M&A advisor for several companies in the natural and organic industry including Horizon Organic Dairy, Ethnic Gourmet frozen dinners, Autumn Harp cosmetics and Cornnuts snacks.
Steve began his career at General Foods (now the Kraft Heinz Company) where, over 13 years, he held positions of increasing responsibility including Vice President of Marketing for Established and New Brands in the $800 million Beverage Division. Steve developed the first of its kind in-store branded merchandising program that drove significant incremental profitability while building brand awareness.
Steve received an AB degree from Hamilton College and an MBA from Harvard University.
Steve is from New Jersey, where he resides with his wife.
